Felanitx is a traditional town in the southeast of Mallorca, set among rolling countryside and vineyards that give the area a distinctive charm. Known for its weekly Sunday market, historic churches, and craft traditions, it offers a glimpse of authentic Mallorcan life away from the island’s busier resorts.
The surrounding landscape is dotted with windmills, almond groves, and the famous Sant Salvador sanctuary perched high on a hill with panoramic views across the southeast coast.
Felanitx is also at the heart of Mallorca’s Pla i Llevant DO, wine country, with several well-regarded bodegas producing local varieties.
Its proximity to the coast means beaches and harbours like Porto Colom are just a short drive away, offering the best of both rural and seaside living.
Felanitx is 48 kilometres from Palma de Mallorca, about 50 minutes by car, with excellent access via the Ma-19 motorway and the Ma-15 motorway connecting Palma to Llucmajor and Manacor. Its location makes it ideal for exploring the smaller harbours and beaches of the southeastern coastline of Mallorca.

The settlement dates back to the Bronze age, the village was granted a charter with the name Felanitx in 1300 by Jaume II.
